50,000 Photographs Tell a Story | Na Bolom Museum

WALK THROUGH MAYAN HISTORY

Frans Blom and Gertrude Duby dedicated their lives to documenting what the world was forgetting: the Mayan and Lacandon culture of Chiapas. This isn't a museum of display cases. It's the house where they lived. Where they hosted Diego Rivera, Katherine Anne Porter, and National Geographic explorers.

Here are their cameras. Their books. Their photographs. 50,000 black-and-white images of a Chiapas that no longer exists. 14,000 books on archaeology, anthropology, and Mayan history. And everything remains exactly where they left it.
